On June 7-9, 2018, the Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business organized and held the 18th annual scientific conference La Fondation pour la formation hoteliere on “Innovative communication technologies in the hospitality and tourism industry.” Each year, the FH Foundation Board selects a city to meet scholars in the hotel and restaurant business and tourism. Associate professors Fedosova KS and Dishkantyuk OV spoke at previous conferences in the UK, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia and other European countries, and this time an international conference on hotel and restaurant business and tourism was held in Odessa at the Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business of the Odessa National University of Technology.
40 scientists from the best universities in Europe (including the legendary Glion, Switzerland) came to ONUT. Ivan Liptuga (president ofOdessa Tourism Association) came to congratulate the participants of the event. For 3 days, the scientists exchanged experiences, presented their reports and research results in the field of hospitality and tourism. Excursions around Odessa and tastings in the best restaurants of the city were also organized for guests from other countries.

Students majoring in “hotel and restaurant business” helped to organize service during coffee breaks and buffets. All dishes for this event they prepared independently under the guidance of teachers of the department.
It should be noted that the Department of GRB has been cooperating with the international foundation “La Fondation pour la formation hoteliere” for more than 10 years. The foundation also annually pays for the participation of teachers and students of the Department of GRB in gastronomic workshops at Silesian University of Opava, provides free access to virtual hotel management simulators, purchases professional literature and more.
