The Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business is active in the field of international activities.
Representatives of the department fruitfully cooperate with the Foundation for the Development of Education in the field of hotel services in Central and Eastern Europe La Fondation pour la Formation Hôtelière. This organization, of which ONUT is a member, is an independent charitable foundation that has been educating and training the hospitality industry for more than 40 years, working with hospitality and tourism schools, colleges and universities, and international professional organizations.
Every year, the FH Foundation Board holds scientific conferences around the world. Representatives of the department spoke at conferences in the UK, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia and other European countries. And in 2018, an international conference on hotel and restaurant business and tourism was held in Odessa on the basis of the Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business of the Odessa National University of Technology.
ONUT is a member of the International Council on Hotels, Restaurants and Institutional Education (ICHRIE). It is a global and multicultural community of hospitality and tourism professionals engaged in the search, discovery, promotion and exchange of knowledge and experience related to the hospitality and tourism industry and its future leaders.
Four bachelor students of GDS (Perev Yevhen, Anastasia Shevtsova, Elizaveta Abdulakh and Andriy Strelets) under the guidance of associate professor of the department Fedosova KS participate in the international competition EuroCHRIE Challenge 2022 (February-March 2022). The competition is based on the virtual hotel management simulator RevSim revenue management simulation from Russell Partnership Technology. The competition involves 18 teams from world-renowned specialized universities in the hospitality industry (including the United States, Switzerland and others). The participants created and launched a virtual hotel and managed it online for several months (making important decisions, managing the budget, etc.). Online meetings are held once a week, during which participants share experiences and record their results.
ONUT is also a member of the largest international association of organizations related to the hotel business STR SHARE. Founded in 1985, STR provides premium benchmarking data, analytics and market insights for the global hospitality industry. STR entered NASDAQ: CSGP in October 2019 as CoStar Group, Inc.

Currently, ONUT cooperates with more than 60 foreign universities and organizations from twenty-five countries, such as Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, Estonia, Israel, India, Yemen, Canada, Lithuania, China, Macedonia. , Morocco, Moldova, Germany, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Tunisia, France, Czech Republic, Chile, etc.
The Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business also cooperates with the Center for International Affairs, which represents ONUT in the international space and is responsible for organizing cooperation in scientific and educational activities. The Center for International Affairs offers students majoring in “Hotel and Restaurant Business” and teachers of the department to participate in international educational programs on academic mobility, improve their skills internationally, participate in competitions for scholarships and grants.
